FASTLAB UTV

Rear Tire Carrier, $499.99
Rear Rock Flaps, $159.99
Tube Clamp Milwaukee Packout Mount, $99.99

Our friends over at FastLab UTV sent over some great additions to the YXZ, namely their rear tire carrier, rear rock flaps, and Milwaukee packout mount. The rear tire carrier installs easily with a slight trim of your plastics, and FastLab even includes a cool jig to mark the cuts. It hangs the rear tire over the back of the YXZ, which helps with the weight balance when loading it down with accessories. For the stock springs, the extra weight was a bit much, but the Weller Racing shock work included uprated springs to carry the extra mass. FastLab’s tire carrier is more than up to the task of supporting our 32-inch HighLifter Chicane LT spare.

Keep your rear end fresh and rock-rash free with FastLab UTV’s easy bolt-on rock flap kit.

These rock flaps are one of our favorite accessories on the whole build. Besides looking rally-esque, they do a fantastic job protecting the rear suspension, shocks, axles, and wheels from the incredible amount of dirt and rock spray these front tires throw at them. It makes a dramatic difference in the surface wear of those components, and the installation takes less than 5 minutes. FastLab threw in their tube clamp Milwaukee Packout mount, which is a steel tray that allows you to mount a Milwaukee Packout accessory directly to it. Tool boxes, storage bins, ice chests, and more are available to fit this system, and it is a flexible way to add storage to a car that desperately needs it. These are universal, and available in a variety of styles on FastLab’s website.

Trinity Racing’s Stage 5 exhaust system looks incredible, fits well, and provides a massive boost in power and sound. We would recommend opting for the quiet core!

TRINITY RACING

DynoJet PowerVision 3 Tuner, $554.99
Stage 5 Stainless/Aluminum Full Exhaust System, $999.99
Sintered Metal Brake Pads, $45.95 each wheel

2024 YXZ1000R UTV Build
Power from the YXZ’s triple is boosted tremendously thanks to the Trinity Racing exhaust and Weller Racing tune combination. This should net a 15-20% increase in horsepower versus the stock setup.

Lastly, we wanted a little more power to compensate for the added wheel diameter and weight. We called up Trinity Racing and got a hold of a full Stage 5 exhaust system, a DynoJet PowerVision 3 Tuner, and 4 sets of their sintered metal high-performance brake pads.

The exhaust system is an absolute work of art, so you better wipe the whole thing clear of finger prints before the first fire-up! Trinity paid great attention to detail with the welds, and the whole thing fits wonderfully. As usual, it took us longer to remove the stock system than it did to put the new one on, as there is a little tetris involved to get the stock muffler out of the YXZ’s frame. The Trinity system uses a screen-type spark arrestor, but is a closed-course rated system only.

The DynoJet PowerVision is a tuning device that also provides live data monitoring. It plugs into the data port of the YXZ’s wiring harness underneath the center armrest, so installation takes less than 30 seconds. Once installed, it may need to be updated, which happens via USB cable on a PC. We were able to get the YXZ flashed and loaded very quickly, but Trinity did not have a 2024 tune available at the time that we put the car together. Thankfully, Weller Racing had a verified 2024-compatible tune, and they were eager to send it over to get some more validation testing done. Trinity has since released their 2024 tune.

Trinity Racing’s sintered metal brake pads offer a nice bite and a little more aggressive feel than the stock pads.

To give us a little edge with braking, we replaced the stock brake pads with Trinity Racing’s sintered metal pads. They are sold per wheel, so be careful when ordering. The pads slide right into the caliper, and it takes more time to get the wheels off than it does to change them. Once the pads were bedded, they made a big improvement in bite, and the YXZ will lock up the tires easily if you stand on the pedal hard enough, even with the big 32 inch tires.Â
