Kawasaki Ridge UTV Review

Transmission:

The new Kawasaki UTV’s in-line four is mated to a CVT transmission that’s similar to the one found on the Teryx KRX UTV, except it doesn’t utilize a wet centrifugal clutch. The clutch tuning was spot on, and it didn’t feel much different than the centrifugal clutch setup on the KRX. It features a “Catch and Release” engine braking technology which provides a predictable, smooth and stable downhill engine braking feel. The engine braking on this setup is flawless and works great in each of the three drive modes and is smooth and seamless in high, low and reverse.

Kawasaki Ridge UTV Review
Both the Ridge and the Ridge XR models rely on the same CVT, but they’re setup with different shift points via unique springs.
