Both the Ridge and Ridge XR feature Kawasaki’s first 999cc in-line four cylinder engine mated to a CVT transmission, but the standard Kawasaki Ridge UTV puts out 92 horsepower, while the Ridge XR checks in at 116 horsepower. Torque on the Ridge is 65.6 foot pounds and 73.8 foot pounds on the Ridge XR. Lastly, the Ridge tops out at 68 miles per hour and the Ridge XR has a top speed of 74 mph. Both models feature Sport, Normal and Work modes that achieve significant adjustments in the throttle control and acceleration.

Tire Size:

The two new Kawasaki UTV models ride on 14-inch aluminum wheels with minor styling difference. The Ridge utilizes 27-inch Duro Power Grip V2 tires. This set is 6 ply rated and have different front (27×9-14) and rear (27×11-14) sizing. The Ridge XR sits on 30-inch Duro Power Grip V2 tires that are 8 ply rated. They also have a common wheel/tire (30×10-14) front to back.

Both models feature basic pre-load adjustable shocks with 5 clickers of adjustment. With these adjustments the average ride height on the Kawasaki Ridge is 13-inches. The average ride height on the Ridge XR is 14-inches.

Seating:

Kawasaki’s Ridge UTV features 3-person bench seating and the Ridge XR offers two bucket seats. The bucket seats offer 5-inches of front-to-back adjustability in 1/2-inch increments. The center backrest also folds down to provide an armrest and two additional cup holders. The passenger seat base folds upward to increase storage space.

Lighting:

The 2024 Kawasaki Ridge XR features Grilled Accent Lights and a taillight cover, while the standard Ridge doesn’t have either upgrade. Both models feature a 7-inch color TFT meter and LED lights throughout.

Diff Lock:

Both of the Kawasaki UTV models features a locking front-differential, operated by electronically selectable, on-the-fly switch, but the Ridge XR features both front and rear locking differentials.

Front Bumper:

The Ridge features a beefy utility-style bumper and the Ridge XR has a sportier bumper. Kawasaki offers a massive collection of Genuine Accessories, so bumpers can be switched out if you prefer one over the other. Both bumpers are winch-ready and both Ridge models are pre-wired for the winch, so it’s a simple plug-and-play.
