Rad Off-Road Sound Bar Review

While perusing through the Kemimoto website, checking out their 13th Anniversary sale, we came across their new Midnight collection of UTV Off-Road Sound Bars. There’s a few size options to choose from that range from the 16-inch Midnight 40 model ($249.99) to the gigantic 32-inch, 6 speaker Midnight 80 ($489.99).

We’ve been looking for something to replace our dusty old Alexa, for our time in the shop, as well as something that easily mounts to the roll bar of a UTV. Since we outfit most of our UTVs with accessories like fire extinguishers, tool bags, GoPro mounts, etc. we were limited on roll bar space, so we opted for the more moderate 16-inch (L16″ x W4.6″ x H5.0″) model. This unit fit perfectly on the back bar of our Honda Talon 1000R using supplied mounts that adjust from 1-inch to 2-inch in diameter. The soundbar slides easily into the mount and is secured with a sliding lock mechanism.

This Midnight 40 Soundbar has the option of a built-in battery or a wired only model that runs for $50 cheaper. The built-in, 5200 mAh battery lasts up to 4 hours on a charge and puts out 300 watts or power with 200 lighting modes that sync to the beat, fade in and out, flash, and jump. We don’t think the neighbors appreciate our new party vibe prep nights, since the small, two-speaker two-tweeter, sound bar is quite loud and vibrant, but we loved this accessory for our Summer night rides!

Pairing and reconnection is simple with the BT5.3 connection and it’s compatible with smartphones, MP3, tablets, computers, and other devices. The Kemimoto UTV Sound Bar also features USB in ports for power supply and connection, as well as Party Mode to connect 2 speakers simultaneously. The Daisy Chain lets you connect as many soundbars as you wish, which is a pretty rad feature!

The Midnight 40 features a IP66 Marine Grade weatherproof aluminum alloy case, which makes it exceptionally rugged in the dust as well as high humidity, low temperature environments. The upgraded built-in protection design prevents the speaker bar from breaking in extreme weather and power surges during vehicle starts. We’ve also washed the Talon and soundbar multiple times with zero issues.

We are overall impressed during our Rad Off-Road Sound Bar Review. It looks and feels like it will last multiple seasons of abuse, we were surprised with how easily it was to connect and we enjoyed the clear quality sound and party vibe option on the trail. You can purchase the Midnight 40 here and head over to Kemimoto.com to take advantage of the last few days of their Anniversary Sale.
