OnX Offroad Launches Cell Phone Coverage Layersย
OnX Offroad, a top innovator in off-road navigation technology, has introduced new cell phone coverage layers. These layers display the availability of mobile broadband and voice services from major U.S. providers, while also identifying remote areas with limited or no cellular coverage.
onX Offroadโs cell phone coverage layers show users where signal begins and ends across the three main service providers: AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
Key Features of the onX Offroad Cell Phone Coverage Layers:
โ Real-Time Network Coverage: Layers provide up-to-date information about the reach and strength of cellular networks in a given area, so users can plan their trip and make informed decisions when out in the field.
โ Offline Availability: Even if a user is far away from cell service, users can access these layers via downloaded offline maps to understand where they may have cell signal along their route.
โ Improved Safety and Connectivity: By understanding where cell service begins and ends, users can stay connected with fellow adventurers and emergency services if unexpected issues arise.
โ Seamless Integration: Layers integrate with OnX Offroadโs powerful navigation tools, allowing users to see the coverage maps overlaid on terrain and trail data, and in the dash, for CarPlay and Android Auto enabled vehicles.
Cell Phone Coverage Layers are available for onX Offroad Premium and Elite members. Users can access them in the Map Layers menu, and toggle on their carrierโs map. By zooming in, they can also see coverage strength (5G, 4G, and voice).
