Can-Am Wins Again

When the dust settled after the 2020 Vegas to Reno (V2R) this past weekend, Can-Am racers proved once again they’re the class of the field. Phil Blurton stood at the top of the podium, marking his fourth (!) win in a row at the grueling event, a first in Best In The Desert’s history, regardless of vehicle class.

“V2R this year was one for the books!” said Blurton. “We came into the race with 3 previous V2R wins so we had a lot of pressure on ourselves to try and repeat our previous successes. The last section is very rough and technical, and seems to be where we shine. We were able to get into the lead and secure another V2R win in the last 50 miles of the 515-mile race! When we crossed the line my team and I couldn’t believe we pulled it off again.”

This year’s V2R, the longest single-day off-road race in the U.S., saw incredible, close side-by-side racing, headlined by the ultra-competitive UTV Turbo class. But most of the competition was among Can-Am racers, as Can-Am took home 8 of the top 10 spots, continuing an incredibly successful 2020. You may recall earlier this year, that Can-Am took the top spot at the renowned Dakar Rally for the third consecutive year, sweeping the podium, as well as each of the top 20 positions. And shortly after that, Can-Am once again swept the podium at King of the Hammers, where they brought home 8 of the top 10 positions.

Can-Am is proud to be winning off-road races on every continent, with a diverse family of racers who fuel the success of the Can-Am Maverick X3. And winning never gets old, which is why the best of the best continue to drive Can-Am.
