RZR GIANT Edge Racer Seats

THE SCOOP

RZR Giant has been supplying the needs of the UTV  industry for years, so when they found the need for a new seat, they jumped into the ring. Wanting to build a seat that was compatible with the OEM hardware and still be able to unlock the seat without additional hardware was a priority second only to comfort. They are also making center console seats and seat covers for the Polaris RZR.

THE VERDICT

A comfortable seat makes all the difference at the end of a long day of riding, and it is one of the few overlooked items on your UTV. The upgraded visual aesthetics that they provide not only upgrade the appearance of your ride, but also add the comfort you need. The first UTV that came on to the market did not have very comfortable seats because they were built for utility. The Kawasaki Teryx, Yamaha Rhino and Arctic Cat Prowlers, in our opinion, offer very little in the way of seat comfort.  On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Polaris RZR ,Can-Am Commander and the new Arctic Cat Wildcat are outfitted with seats that offer more cushion and higher back support.  But like anything, there is always room for improvement.  For Commander owners, aftermarket seats offer a durable and easy-to-clean fabric or material that will wear longer and be less susceptible to minor cuts, tears and mud stains.  Depending on the seat option you choose, they can also be lighter, offer better containment, comfort, and style that will last for years.

When it comes to the RZR, there are benefits as well.  We received a set of RZR Giant’s seats with orange stripe accents and white piping to match our 2012 Polaris RZR Orange Madness for our  upcoming  trip to Moab, Utah.  Other aftermarket seats that are available either have a strap handle in the back that works really well, an aftermarket billet handle that attaches to the back of the seat, or the RZR Giant method which is to have a removable cushion to use the existing OEM latch system.  Having a removable cushion also helps cleaning, and different size cushions can be ordered to adjust to either a higher or lower seat position.

On the trail, the Edge Racer seats offered improved comfort through hard hitting sections, better containment when railing through tight, twisty corners on the trail, and instantly upgraded the look of our ride.  Being larger in size, when we first sat in them they felt a little tight and we thought we would have trouble with the comfort of the seat.  But the more you are in it, the more it conforms to your body and becomes a very comfortable seat. It cradled our backs from moving side to side and kept us safe and secure. The sewn-on harness guides kept the belts wide and helped reduce neck irritation, and when entering the unit you aren’t looking side to side for the harness.

Another plus, which is shown in the photo on the right, is the extra length of the removable cushion which adds extra support to your legs.

Made in the USA from top quality, marine-grade foam and vinyl with a powdercoated steel frame.
